General Parking Information

All vehicles parked on campus during decal-restricted hours (Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, unless signage indicates otherwise) must display a valid UF parking decal or permit, or park in a metered space or paid parking facility and pay the appropriate fee.

Students may find more information on student parking decals here, and faculty and staff members may find more information on faculty/staff parking decals here.

All vehicles parked on campus must obey UF's parking rules and regulations. Vehicles parked in violation of these rules and regulations may be issued a parking citation.

  •   Where can I park on campus?

You may park your vehicle in the decal-restricted lot, garage or motorcycle/scooter zone for which you have a corresponding decal. To find where these areas are located, visit the current campus parking map.

If you do not have a decal, you may pay a daily fee to park your vehicle in the UF Bookstore and Visitor Welcome Center Garage, or pay to park in metered spaces around campus.

If you are a patient or visiting a patient at Shands, you may park in the Shands Patient/Visitor Garage on Mowry Road.

  •   Where can't I park on campus?

You may not park your vehicle in a reserved, handicapped, or carpool space unless you have a corresponding decal. You may not park in a service drive without a service drive permit. You may not park on sidewalks, roadsides, in bike lanes, on grassy areas, or in "No Parking" zones.

You may not park your vehicle in a decal-restricted lot, garage or motorcycle/scooter zone unless you have a corresponding decal.

You may not park in the Shands Visitor/Patient Garage if you are a UF/Shands student, faculty or staff member, unless you are a patient or visiting a patient.

  •   What parking decal can I buy?

Decal eligibility requirements differ for faculty/staff members and for students. Faculty/staff decal eligibility is based on whether or not the faculty/staff member is benefits eligible, and in some cases on which decal they purchased in the previous decal year. Student decal eligibility is based on whether the student lives on or off campus and the number of credit hours earned.

You may then purchase a replacement decal at a cost of $25.

  •   When are decal restrictions lifted?

Decal restrictions are in effect in most lots and garages on campus between 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and outside these hours, restrictions are lifted. However, some areas have different hours of restriction - please be sure to always check the signs at the lot or garage where you plan to park, as the specific hours for each area will be posted on the signs.

Decal restrictions are lifted on weekends and University holidays.

Some decal restrictions are also lifted during certain times of year. All other parking rules apply.

  •   Why did I get a parking citation, and what do I have to do about it?

Parking citations are issued for violations of University parking rules and regulations. Citations may be paid or appealed. Citations must be paid or appealed within 15 days from the date of issuance of the citation, or a late fee will be assessed.
